GREAT SUCCESS OF OUR PUPILS

 

 

April  28, 2004

Youth Chess Championship of Sarajevo Canton (under 10, 14, 16, 18 and 20 for boys and girls) is played in Hall of Municipality Old Town, on Sunday, April 25, in organization of Chess Federation of Sarajevo Canton.
74 boys and girls participated in Championship, 42 of them were the members of our Chess School ŤPlay Chess for Better Futureť.
Our pupils were successful in groups as follows:
BOYS UNDER 10 (13 participants):
I place - Omo Cengic (5 points/ 5 rounds) II place - Dino Ramovic (4 points) III place/Buholtz - Fikret Andelija BOYS UNDER 14 I place - Irfan Dizdarevic with 5 points IV place - Goran Juric V place - Kenan Sehic VI place - Amar Korjenic BOYS UNDER 16 II place - Fahrudin Halilovic GIRLS UNDER 10 I place - Arnela Kameric GIRLS UNDER 12 I place - Amila Karic II place - Sabrina Zejnilovic GIRLS UNDER 14 I place - Andrea Belancic

SCHOOL «UMIHANA CUVIDINA» THE BEST

Team Championship for Primary Schools in Municipality Novi Grad has been played on Friday, March 19. All 11 schools participated in Championship.
Because of great number of teams, parents and supporters, The Championship has been played in Social Center «Hermann Gmeiner» - SOS Kinderdorf.
The School «UMIHANA CUVIDINA» was the best after 5 rounds Swiss System.
The final standing is:
1. «UMIHANA CUVIDINA» with 16 points
2. «OSMAN NAKAS» with 12 points
3. «AVDO SMAJLOVIC» with 11,5 points
4. «FATIMA GUNIÆ» with 11,5 points
5. «MEHMEDALIJA MAK DIZDAR» with 10 points
6. «BEHAUDIN SELMANOVIC» with 10 points
7. «ALEKSA SANTIC» with 9,5 points
8. «OSMAN NURI HADZIC» with 9,5 points
9. «CAMIL SIJARIC» with 9,5 points
10. «SKENDER KULENOVIC» with 7 points
11. «DZEMALUDIN CAUSEVIC» with 6,5 points

Three best-ranged school will participate on Final Cantonal Championship which will be held on free day during the XXXIV International Grandmaster's Super-Tournament «Bosna 2004» on May 23.
Till then, we must finish Tournaments in Municipalities: Hadzici, Ilijas, Ilidza, Trnovo and Vogosca.
 

 

 

SCHOOL "EDHEM MULABDIC" THE BEST IN CHAMPIONSHIP OF MUNICIPALITY OLD TOWN
SARAJEVO

Team Championship for Primary Schools in Municipality Old Town Sarajevo
has been played on Friday March 5, 2004. All six schools participated in Championship, which has been played on 4 boards: 3 boys and 1 girl. School Edhem Mulabdic was more successful in direct match with School Mula
Mustafa Baseskija and won with 3:1.
The final standing:
1. Edhem Mulabdic with 13,5 points
2. Mula Mustafa Baseskija with 13 points
3. Sejh Muhamed efendija Hadzijamakovic with 9,5 points (better in tie-break)
4. Hamdija Kresevljakovic with 9,5 points
5. Vrhbosna with 8 points
6. Saburina with 6,5 points.

The best players on boards were as follows:
- Faris Sitnic was the best on I board with maximum 5 points (Edhem Mulabdic
- Neis Sahinovic (Vrhbosna) and Bakir Kalajdzic (Edhem Mulabdic) on II board with 4 points
- Irfan Ibrovic (Sejh Muhamed efendija Hadzijamakovic) on III board with 3 points
- Arnela Kameric (Mula Mustafa Baseskija on IV board with 5 points.

Ajdin Beganovic (Edhem Mulabdic) was the most successful first reserve
with 4 points, Haris Pijuk (Mula Mustafa Baseskija) the most successful second reserve with 3 points.
Three the best-ranged schools will participate in Cantonal Team Championship for Primary Schools which will be played probably in April. Championship in Municipality New Town must be played till then.
All the best-ranged teams and players won chess rewards.

 

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SCHOOLS IN MUNICIPALITY OLD TOWN SARAJEVO

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SCHOOLS IN MUNICIPALITY OLD TOWN SARAJEVO will be  held on Friday March 5, 2004.

 The Championship will be played on 4 boards: 3 boys + 1 girl with 1 boy and  1 girl reserve.

 This competition will be organized as one of the activities of chess project "Play Chess for Better Futur" which realization is supported by Ministry of foreign affairs of Iceland Republic.

 
 
 

 

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN MUNICIPALITY "CENTER SARAJEVO"

Team Championship for Primary Schools in Municipality Center Sarajevo played on Friday February 13 in Chess Club Bosna.

Eight schools participated with nine teams (School Musa Cazim Catic with 2 teams).
Team consisted of 3 boys and 1 girl (old formula) with 1 boy and 1 girl reserve. After five rounds according to Swiss system, order is as follows:
1. place School Musa Cazim Catic I team with 12,5 points
2. place School Alija Nametak 12,5
3. place School Musa Cazim Catic II team 11,5
4. place School Isak Samokovlija 11
5. place School Mehmed beg Kapetanovic Ljubusak 11
6. place School Vladislav Skaric 10,5
7. place School Nafija Sarajlic 8,5
8. place Catholic School Centre 7,5
9. place School Hasan Kikic 6,5

Three best-ranged schools (not teams) will play in Team Championship for
 Primary Schools in Sarajevo Canton, which will be held in May, after we
 finish all Municipality Team Championships.

The best-ranged teams got awards: trophies, chess books and diplomas.

 

 
 
The best players on boards got rewards too:
 - VEDRAN KARAHODZIC (Musa Cazim Catic II team) with 5 points was the most
 successful on 1.BOARD;

 - GORAN ANTUNOVIC (Catholic School Center) with 4 points was the most  successful on 2. BOARD;

 - IRFAN DIZDAREVIC (Musa Cazim Catic I team) with 5 points was the most  successful on 3. BOARD;

 - EDNA LUKAC (Mehmed beg Kapetanovic Ljubusak with 5 points was the most successful on 4. BOARD

 

 

FIRST CHESS SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP

Among the basic fragments of Chess School Project "Play Chess for Better Future" (which is supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Island Republic), with focus on school children/younger juniors, the First Chess
School Champion played on January 31. The winter holiday is the reason why participated 47 School's members. The Championship played in three groups:
1. Girls, 2. Younger boys 1-4 class, 3. older boys 5-8 class.
Nine girls played in girls' group. Amila Karic, who attends V class of Primary School Grbavica II, won with 7 points. Follow: Sabrina Zejnilovic (6,5 points), Arnela Kameric (6), Jasmina Ibisevic (5,5), Andrea Belancic (4), Semra Korac (3,5), Arijana Turkovic and Ema Korac (2) and Azra
Hadziahmetovic (0).
In group of younger boys, where was 14 participants, the first was Edin Uzunovic with 6 points/7 games, before Edin Durakovic (5,5) and Senad Agovic (5), etc.
In group of older boys (24 participants), the first was Fahrudin Halilovic with 7 points/7 games!, before Aldin Milic (6), Irfan Dizdarevic and Goran Juric (5), etc.
The best ranged in all three groups won trophies and chess books.
The next Championship will be held on February 13 - Team Championship
Primary Schools on Municipality Center. In team will play three boys and one
girl.
After Municipality Center Championship, the championships on the rest Municipalities will be played too. After that, Final of Schools in Sarajevo
Canton will be played, with participation of three best-ranged schools in
every municipality.

EXTRA INSTRUCTION FOR CHESS PLAYERS

The leader of a chess project of School of chess called ˝Play chess for the Better Future˝, international master Zlatko Basagic has formed a special female group.To make this move, Bašagić was guided with a very noticeable shortage(defect) of high-quality players, not only in Sarajevo therefore in the whole country.
  Instantaneously , school of chess attends about seventeen young chess players who accepted this idea with enthusiasm.They will regulary follow the instructions according to their groups, but they will also work according to the extra and intensified programme.
 According to the words of Bašagić there are  lot of talented chess players but expecting long-standing work, because no one can become a good player over  night.

 

 

 

 

 

THERE IS NO HOLIDAY FOR YOUNG CHESS PLAYERS

No matters the holiday in regular schools, the Chess  School of CC Bosnia as a part of the project˝Play Chess for the Better Future˝ works normally.The series of inter- tournaments is finished, where the most successful won the fourth category. They got the test with material and the best were Tarik and Muamer Bojičić,Irfan Dizdarević,Fahrudin Halilović and Aldin Milić.
  On Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 2004 the school´s championship will took place and the competitors will be separated in three groups: girls the first group, pupils from 1 to 4 grade the second one, pupils from 5 to 8 grade the third one.
 The championship will be organized in the elementary school Osman Nakaš in Otoka.All beginners have got Bosnia membership cards and the new categories are written to those who won them.
